Genova Brignole train station

Genova Brignole train station is the city’s second most important, just after Genova Piazza Principe. It is located in the city centre, on Piazza Verdi, which stands at the foot of Montesano hill. The ornate Renaissance building, which was opened in 1905, boasts elegant marble and painted frescoes. Around 300 trains pass through daily, both regional and long-distance national routes. The station sits on the Pisa-Genova line, with the full route on a direct train taking as little as 1h45mins. La Spezia-Genova takes 1 hours, whilst Milan-Genova is a journey of 1h45mins, and travelling from Turin takes 1h50mins. Passengers arriving at the station will find several bus routes to transfer them to destinations like Cristoforo Colombo Airport (around a 40-minute journey) and the Port of Genova (a journey time of 10 to 15 minutes). Access to the centre is easy because there is a metro stop directly connected to the station (also called Brignole), which takes visitors and locals alike to the rest of the city.
